The windows at Satellite Cafe, 5923 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, are covered with brown paper, and there's a sign taped to the door that tells would-be visitors that the restaurant is closed for renovations.
A visit to Satellite's web site offers this statement: "Our new owner is doing major renovations at the restaurant to better suit our patrons' needs, so we will be closed until our tentative grand reopening on May 1. Thank you for your patience during this process and we look forward to seeing you soon."
The sign on the door tells patrons to keep checking the web site for updates on the remodeling project.
We hope this means the air conditioning will work better in the summer when the setting sun hits those west-facing windows! But May is a long way off and we'll miss Satellite — especially the tart apple and cottage cheese pancakes — until then.
