This sweetheart is one of many dogs available for adoption at the Humane Society of Pulaski County.

Humane Society of Pulaski County will begin taking adoption applications for the 143 small dogs rescued in early February from a retiring puppy mill owner.

Stop by the shelter or get an application on line. Please indicate the breed you are interested in adopting at the top of the application in the margin.

Shelter director Kay Simpson says, "Please understand this will take a little time as each person approved must not only come and pick their new family member, but we must get them sterilized before they can go home, a process that will take several weeks."

The shelter is located at 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock. For adoption hours call (501) 227-6166.
