Handicap: 0, although I have not posted a score in several years.

How much do you play? I never play unless it is a tournament round (last year I played in eight tournaments total), practice once every 7-10 days in golf months.

When/why did you start playing? Started playing at age 9, first tournament at 10, nine-hole division, won with a 45. Began playing because that is what my dad and brothers did.  Dad was going to play, and I believe he was instructed to take me, all the time. I grew up playing at Rebsamen, War Memorial, Hindman and Rock Creek. The first shot I got airborne was on No. 1 at Rock Creek playing with my brother Tim. I was 9. Started working at Rebsamen at 11, putting up carts, so that is where I spent most of my time.

Where do you play? If I play these days I play at Country Club of Arkansas, the finest semi-private golf club in Central Arkansas. The only rounds I play anymore are tournament rounds and maybe six charity scrambles per year.

What is your best score? A 56, War Memorial Park, final round of the 4th of July event in, I believe, 1997. Lowest to par, Hindman Stroke Play tournament, a 62 in the first round. Both were and are competitive course records. In non-tournament rounds, I shot a couple of 64s at Rebsamen, a 64 at CCA, 64 at Burns, 64 at Stuttgart CC, 63 at Arlington HS, and a few others.

What state amateur would you choose for one four-ball match you had to win? Wes McNulty, hands down.

What PGA pro would you choose?
I would still take Wes McNulty.  If I had to take a Tour player, I would take Phil Mickelson.

“Caddyshack” or “Tin Cup”? “Caddyshack,” no brainer.  Classic, hysterical, great cast, Hollywood ending. “Tin Cup” is my least favorite move of all time, in all categories. Roy McAvoy proves that anyone can be an idiot. I’m not a [Kevin] Costner fan either.

Best golf memory? Hard question, I’ve had lots. Probably the second shot I hit into No. 18 at Burns Park during the Arkansas Open. Had the lead by one shot over Ken Duke and Bob Ralston. I had 210 yards out, nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I hit a 4-iron as pure as the driven snow right at the flag. Won by two. Honorable mention would be the first cut I made in a national event, U.S. Mid-Am up in Connecticut. Finished eighth out of 240 in the qualifying rounds, won first match, lost to Trip Kuehne in round two.

If you weren’t playing golf in your spare time you’d be …?
Since, from my seat, I play only sparingly anymore, my time is taken up with work, watching my kids in their activities, and being a heavily “available” for any and all requests. I don’t have another sport that I would put much time into.

What clubs do you play/prefer? I use a set of G2 Pings, G10 Driver and 3-wood, Titleist Hybrid, Titleist Vokey wedges, Odessey Putter.

Best course you ever played?  TPC at Sawgrass.

The course you haven’t played but wish you could? Would love to play Augusta, only walked it so far.

Best hole in Arkansas?
If you have to account for most difficult, most beautiful and best layout altogether, how about No. 14 at Texarkana CC? Hogan liked it.

If they held a tournament for the CEOs/businessmen in Arkansas, who would win it?
Top CEOs — assuming you are talking about large corporation CEOs — I have no idea, I think they must play tennis. If you allow small company CEOs or self-employed individuals who own their own shop, then that gets more convoluted. Hard to say. I take the Fifth.
