If you've always wanted to attend the Tribeca Film Festival but haven't managed to get yourself to New York for the annual event, you'll be happy to know that the festival will now come to you.
Tribeca Film Festival Virtual is offering a new online venture this year: a virtual pass that includes unlimited 8-day access to festival content and select 2010 Tribeca Film Festival titles.
From April 23–30, a TFF Virtual Premium Pass will allow computer access to:
- A selection of full-length feature films premiering simultaneously at the Festival in New York
- Exclusive original content (including live coverage of red-carpet premieres) and short films from TFF 2010
- An enhanced High-Definition video player
- Real-time Q&As and panel discussions with filmmakers, industry leaders, and fellow film fans
- The chance to vote on your favorite TFF Virtual films and award a cash prize to up-and-coming filmmakers.
The first-ever TFFV will open April 23 with the world premiere of Edward Burns’ Nice Guy Johnny, which will play simultaneously with the film’s premiere at TFF.
Passes are available to U.S. residents for $45 each, and will go on sale today (March 15). Beginning March 15, all visitors to www.tribecafilm.com/virtual will have access to an array of free content, including selected short films from previous editions of TFF, conversations with filmmakers and industry experts, a daily highlight reel of the day’s biggest moments, press conferences and live streams of the Festival red carpets.
The full film lineup for Tribeca Film will be announced later this month. To purchase a virtual pass, click here.
