Cinemark Holdings Inc. announced today (March 18) that it will open a 12-screen stadium-seated movie theater at the Conway Town Centre in Conway. The new Cinemark 12 will be located at 201 U.S. 65 North at Interstate 40. The company expects to open it in the fall. The Cinemark 12 will replace the Cinema 6 theater, which closed Feb. 21.

“This city has been home to our Cinema 6 for many years and Cinemark is excited to build a new state-of-the-art movie theater for our guests in this community,” says Alan Stock, Cinemark’s chief executive officer, in a news release. “We’ll be tripling the size of the theater and have the ability to serve twice as many customers. Additionally, this theater will feature a Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium.”

The Cinemark 12 replaces Cinema 6 theater, which was closed on February 21. The new complex will feature stadium seating with unobstructed views of the screens. Each auditorium will provide high-backed rocking seats with extra aisle space to give moviegoers more leg room and the ability to enter exit their row without disturbing other guests.

Digital sound will be available in all auditoriums. A modern concession stand will offer fresh popcorn, Coca-Cola brand fountain beverages, candy, nachos, hot dogs, and more.

The Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium, which will screen 2D and real D-3D movies, will contain a wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screen, a custom JBL digital sound system and digital images delivered by a Doremi server and a Barco digital projector.

Cinemark features online ticketing so patrons to purchase tickets in advance. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theater lobby where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Cinemark giftcard. In addition, customers can sign up online to receive free weekly showtime e-mails.
