Everyone is invited to the sixth University of Central Arkansas Film Festival's screening of student films at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 30 in UCA's Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall.

Students are invited to submit films in three categories: music videos, documentaries and short narratives. The deadline for submissions is April 20.

Assistant Professor of Digital Filmmaking Joe Dull encourages students to submit their work in order to gain experience.

“Why make films if no one sees them?” Dull said. “That is the most important thing: to get an audience. Awards can also be won, and they look good on a resume when applying for a job.”

Judges will award prizes for overall best film, best in each category and other technical awards, which will be handed out at the Filmmaker’s Ball immediately after the festival at the Conway Country Club. Free tickets are available until April 23.
