Three Arkansas cities have been recognized by Forbes as being among the top 85 metropolitan areas for business and careers.

Fayetteville, Little Rock and Fort Smith made the list. The Fayetteville metro -- what we commonly refer to as NWA -- came in 15th after topping out a year ago at No. 4. Little Rock placed 49th in 2010 after a No. 22 ranking in 2009, and Fort Smith placed 85th this year, falling from 72nd.

(Making the list of best small metros for business were Jonesboro, Hot Springs and Pine Bluff.)
