Fresh Arkansas strawberries for sale on a road-side stand near Cabot.

Now's the time to be on the lookout for road-side stands selling fresh strawberries throughout Arkansas.

We were lucky to stumble upon one on Saturday in Cabot during a sunny afternoon between bouts of severe storms that tore through the state over the weekend. You can find it on by going east on Highway 321 just off the first Cabot exit going north on 67/167.

We made a nice haul: some ruby red strawberries (taken from the array seen in the photo), some purple-hull peas and a nice mason jar full of jam. Just a sample of the best of what spring in Arkansas has to offer.
