Enjoy crawfish and beer at the Hat Club Crawfish Salute.
The Hat Club Salute, a crawfish boil in honor of David Johnson who was killed in a single car accident in 2004 in Fayetteville, starts at 5 p.m. Saturday (April 23) at the River Market Pavilion, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.
Admission is $30 in advance, $40 at the door. Proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas.
The evening will feature freshly boiled crawfish, beverages, a silent auction, music by Goodtime Ramblers and the Crawtucky Derby (see video below).
Admission is $30 through today (April 22) at Hillcrest Fountain, Big Whiskey's and Scarlet, and $40 at the door.
The wearing of hats at the event is strongly recommended by the Hat Club, a socially responsible non-profit organization that engages in networking and community service activities. Its primary function is to plan fundraising events in support of reputable charitable organizations looking to achieve long-term stability.
The group started out as 10 friends who met once a month to show off their hats, then realized they could do much more.
