Doe's Eat Place is reopening at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15.

Miss those burgers? The fabulous tamales? The sizzling steaks that hang off the edges of their plates? The wait is over. Doe's Eat Place, which suffered a kitchen fire that closed its doors on March 19, is reopening at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15.

Regular hours will resume on Monday, May 17 -- lunch (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) and dinner (5:30-9:30 p.m.) Mondays-Fridays and dinner (5:30-10 p.m.) on Saturdays.

According to the Arkansas Times blog, George Eldridge used the restaurant's downtime to spruce the place up a bit while the kitchen was being repaired. The most noticeable change is new flooring in the same black and white pattern of the original floor that had been well-used since the restaurant opened in 1988.
