Browning's is returning to the Heights later this year.
What are your favorite memories of Browning's Mexican Restaurant? We'd love for you to share them (leave your comments below), because after more than 60 years in business, it's closed, according to a post on Arkansas Times' Eat Arkansas blog.
Our Associate Publisher Chip Taulbee drove past the restaurant during his lunch break and confirmed its closure. Then he got rear-ended for his trouble.
According to the blog post, 'We closed because we were operating with significant loses,' said David Ashmore, who purchased the restaurant from the Phelan family in 2007 with partners Richard Harrison and Wally Roland (Harrison left the partnership after the first year). 'We're trying to regroup.'
Which includes courting potential partners and buyers, Ashmore said.
I'll miss the fish tacos. What will you miss?
