Come to the Malco Theatre, 817 Central Ave., Hot Springs, each Thursday for the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute's Summer Film Series: a documentary at 6 p.m. and classic or alternative film at 8 p.m.

Ghost Bird is a non-fiction feature about life in Brinkley, an extinct giant woodpecker and the search for the Holy Grail of birding: the ivory-billed woodpecker.
8 p.m. -- Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages, 1922, Benjamin Christensen, 104 minutes
Haxan is a documentary about the history of witchcraft, told in a variety of styles from illustrated slideshow to dramatized events of alleged real-life events, right up to the early 20th century when the film was made.
