Crush Wine Bar, 318 Main St., North Little Rock, is offering a tasting of the sweet wines of summer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday (May 17).

"Sweet," according to Crush, means there is some level of residual sugar in the wine which makes it taste sweet. This can vary from slightly off-dry to super-sticky sweet -- and everything in between.

While off-dry or moderately sweet wines often pair nicely with food (for example, German Spatlese or Auslese Rieslings are sublime with slightly spicy Thai food!), very sweet wines are often enjoyed alone at the end of a meal.

 The evening's wines are:

  • Rudi Wiest Riesling
  • Lindemans Still Moscato
  • Castello de Poggio Sparkling Moscato
  • San Antonio Red
  • La Playa Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc

Cost is $10 (cash or check, please). For more information call (501) 374-9463.
