Our Little Rock Family contributor and blogger Kelcie Huffstickler joined a group of local bloggers on a sneak peek tour of the new Kroger Marketplace at 16105 Chenal Parkway in west Little Rock (which opened Aug. 28) and snapped the photos you see above for the Little Rock Family Facebook page.
The 118,000-square foot store features a mix of merchandise and groceries, similar to a Wal-Mart Supercenter:
The marketplace store concept will feature a Fred Meyer Jewelry store, a bistro with a chef on site, a sushi bar, a variety of international cheeses, home décor items, a fuel station, housewares, toys, school and office supplies, furniture, and bed and bath merchandise.
It's part of the Cincinnati-based grocery chain's plan to pump $125 million into Arkansas to renovate stores, including four in Little Rock. Renovations continue to Kroger's store in Hillcrest, which is likely to reopen in October.
