New at Saturday's Harvestfest in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood this year: Run for Shelter 5K at 8 a.m., Audubon Arkansas bird walk at 7:15 a.m. in Allsopp Park and a cheese dip contest.
Back and better than ever: Pancake breakfast, music, arts and crafts, kids' activities (bouncy house, pumpkin decorating, mobile aquarium, carnival games, Radio Disney) and the always spectacular and hugely popular fashion show at 7 p.m. by Box Turtle featuring designs by Amber Taylor, Lauren Kemp, Punkee Monkee, Linda Thomas, Trisha Timmerman, Erin Lorenzen, Missy Lipps and Korto Momolu.
The annual event, held from 7:15 a.m.-9:30 p.m. along Kavanaugh Boulevard (which will be shut down to traffic from Spruce to Walnut streets), includes over 100 vendor booths along with specials at area shops, restaurants and galleries, two stages of music featuring Mandy McBride, Elise Davis, John David, Jim Mize, Bonnie Montgomery and more, on-street beer and wine sales, plus free paper shredding and electronic recycling by Goldman and Company from 11 a.m-5 p.m. on Beechwood just south of Kavanaugh.
Hillcrest Artisan Meats, which hoped to be open at 2807 Kavanaugh Blvd. in time for HarvestFest, will open instead on Nov. 1. In the meantime, passers-by are welcome to stop in and see the space.
Admission is free. For more information click here.
