Little Rock comes in at No. 17 on a list of best cities to restart one's career.

"LIT-tle Rock ARK-ansas.......chaaaannel fooour.......LIT-tle Rock ARK-ansas.......chaa-AA-nel fooouuur..."

That little ditty -- courtesy of, you guessed it, Channel 4 -- haunted many a Little Rock Gen Xer camped out in front of a giant analog TV with a VHF rotary dial capable of delivering only local channels 4, 7 and 11 (and if you were desperate enough, Channel 2 and its all-veggie diet of PBS).

Channel 4, believe it or not, used to go toe-to-toe with Channel 7 as the market's top dog, and one of its promo spots (we call 'em house ads on the print side) from back in the day entailed shots from a helicopter circling over downtown Little Rock to the tune of the ditty mentioned above. Not many will remember it, but surely some will (despite what my kids tell me, we're not THAT old, after all).

Anyway, that old KARK tune and lyric was brought to mind when Karen Martin forwarded me a link to this Daily Beast list which ranks Little Rock as one of the top cities in the country for restarting your career. The Rock comes in at No. 17. (Houston, incidentally, is No. 1.) According to the list, Little Rock has 14,033 small businesses and a personal income per capita of $38,750.

Some nice recognition. Which leaves us with...
