A reception for a a solo exhibition at Stephano's by sculptor Tony Dow (who played Wally Cleaver on the 1950s TV sitcom Leave It To Beaver) will be held from 5-7 p.m. today (Oct. 21) at Sissy's Log Cabin in the Heights. The artist will be in attendance. Admission is free.
Dow works primarily with burl wood from fallen trees around his home in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California. The wood is carved then translated into bronze by using the lost wax process. The final pieces are evocative of the natural world and the human form.
