Services for Lisa Blount, who was found dead in her Little Rock home Wednesday (Oct. 27), will be at noon Monday (Nov. 1) at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 S. Louisiana St.,Little Rock. Donations to support Lisa's favorite charities can be made to Lisa Blount Memorial Fund, Metropolitan National Bank, Little Rock.
Lisa, 53, a Fayetteville native who appeared in such films as An Officer and a Gentleman, won an Oscar with her husband, Ray McKinnon, for their 2002 short film The Accountant.
According to a story in USA Today Thursday (Oct. 28), Lisa's mother, Louise Blount of Cabot, who found her daughter in the bedroom of her Hillcrest house around 2 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 27), told RadarOnline that Lisa had battled a rare and painful blood disorder called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), for 17 years. ITP keeps blood from clotting and leads to bleeding and bruising.
Lisa and her husband moved to Little Rock in 2005. She had recently been inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame and was working on a pilot with Mary Steenburgen called Outlaw Country that was shooting in Nashville.
