The Univeristy of Arkansas unveiled plans on Wednesday for an 80,000-square-foot football operations facility to be built south of Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Athletic director Jeff Long said the projected will cost an estimated $24 million-35 million. A $10 million "challenge grant" has been secured from the Reynolds Foundation. Another $2 million in gifts are earmarked for the project.

Long said the facility will be funded entirely with private funds. The majority of the funding will have to be in place before final approval is sought form the Board of Trustees and construction can begin.

You can see renderings of the project in the slideshow above. The project would radically transform that area of the campus, where thousands of Razorbacks fans converge each year for football home games.

The new facility, which would include a new locker room, team meeting rooms, athletic training room, equipment room, a student-athlete lounge and a football museum celebrating the tradition of Razorback Football, would sit south of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium adjacent to the Walker Family Training Center.
