A diamond ring worth $15,000 will be hidden somewhere in downtown Hot Springs Saturday (Nov. 6). Lauray’s the Diamond Center has partnered with the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau and mobile based-application SCVNGR to allow local Hot Springs couples to compete in a one-day high-tech trek for Hot Springs’ second annual Lauray’s Diamond Dash.
Starting at 8:30 a.m., couples will meet at the Exchange Street Parking Deck to begin their trek. Using their mobile phones, couples will receive a series of location-based clues, prompting them to complete a series of fun and simple challenges from their phone throughout the city of Hot Springs.
Local couples can submit their love stories at by clicking here or a chance to secure a spot in the Diamond Dash. Sign-ups are open until 11:59 p.m. Friday (Nov. 5).
Immediately following the Diamond Dash, couples will gather for an after-event party at Horner Hall in the Hot Springs Convention Center. One lucky couple will then be presented with the $15,000 diamond ring.
“All you need is a love story and a mobile phone to get in on the action”, said John Lingos-Webb, SCVNGR Ringmaster. “We want to see couples running, peddling, doing whatever it takes to complete challenges and earn points to get them closer to owning the diamond ring.”
