The tart, bright flavor of Skinnygirl margaritas packs about the same alcohol punch as a glass of wine, but is not so serious.
It's a nice way to open a dinner party -- especially if you're snacking on salsa and chips as an appetizer -- and doesn't require a lot of attention from the designated bartender.
Created by natural foods chef Bethenny Frankel, author of Naturally Thin and star of Real Housewives of New York City, Skinnygirl is made of natural ingredients (Blue Agave clear tequila, sweetened with agave nectar) and bears little resemblance to the sugar-sweet froth that passes for margaritas nowadays.
Chill and drink it straight from the bottle (pour over ice and enjoy). Or you can elevate the alcohol content by adding an extra shot of tequila (which cranks up the calories too, but what the heck).
We found it for $10.99 at area liquor stores. It didn't last long.
