Lee Richardson of Ashley's at the Capital Hotel

Food & Wine magazine has named Lee Richardson of Ashley's at the Capital as People's Choice Best New Chef for the Midwest. 

Richardson came out on top of a field of 10 finalists in a contest that ran from Feb. 15-March 1 which asked voters to select the most innovative chef in 10 regions of the country whose cuisine reflecrts a distinctive vision.

"Winning the Peoples Choice Award -- expecially against such a remarkable group of chefs -- is a huge honor for me and my colleagues at Ashley's," Richardson said. "It's an affirmation that our guests appreciate and understand what we're trying to do."
