Enjoy the beauty of 25,000 tulips in downtown Argenta during the Plant it Pink Festival.

The Argenta Arts Foundation's Plant It Pink Festival is celebrating spring and honoring families affected by breast cancer by planting 25,000 pink tulips -- many now in bloom -- in downtown North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District.

Presenting sponsor is Little Rock-based gardening expert P. Allen Smith.

Events in conjunction with the tulip planting, benefiting the Arkansas affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, include:

Tales from the South will feature Southern writers presenting short stories about the impact of breast cancer in their lives at 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 29) at Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock. Tickets are $50 and include a reception at 5 p.m. and music at 6 p.m., followed by a live recording of the program for radio broadcast on NPR stations. 

Dr. Suzanne Klimberg of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will be the featured speaker at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 30) at The Argenta Community Theater. Tickets are $20.
