"The No. 1 question I’ve been asked since opening the distillery is, 'When’s the bourbon coming out?' and now I can say “It’s out!” says distillery owner Phil Brandon. "It took a bit longer than I thought it would to get the flavor where we wanted it during the aging process, but I’m really happy with how it turned out."

Arkansas Young Bourbon Whiskey is pot distilled from a mash of Arkansas corn and wheat. Aged in 5-gallon and 10-gallon new charred oak barrels, it's the first legal bourbon whiskey commercially produced in Arkansas.

It's called a "young" bourbon whiskey because it was aged between three and six months using accelerated maturation techniques that includes small barrels and temperature cycling.

About 114 cases were bottled of this first release, some of which will go to Illinois and Tennessee, as well as liquor stores and restaurants throughout Arkansas. Rock Town Distillery is distributed by Glazers of Arkansas, Maxwell Street Trading in Illinois, and United Liquors Corp in Memphis.
