Charge the battery in your electric car at Clinton School and UAMS.

Entergy Arkansas Inc. along with the Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, is providing two new electric car charging stations in Little Rock.

The charging stations, manufactured by Coulomb Technologies and part of Coulomb's ChargePoint Network, can be found in front of the Clinton School of Public Service, 1200 President Clinton Ave., and on the top level of UAMS' North Parking Deck (labeled Patient Parking 2) off West Markham Street.

Each charging station, which looks like a parking meter, offers 110-volt and 240-volt charges. Use of them is free.

ChargePoint Network has a free mobile phone app that allows drivers to search and filter for charging stations across the country by status: available, in use, voltage level, and paid or free stations. To download the app for iPhone click here. To download the app for Blackberry click here.

The Little Rock stations will serve as a research project focused on learning some of the operating characteristics and uses of electric vehicles. The ChargePoint Network allows Entergy access to data including usage reports, greenhouse gas and gasoline savings.
