Big Orange, the much-anticipated new restaurant from ZaZa's John Beachboard and Scott McGehee, is open in Promenade at Chenal, 17809 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock.

The 3,500 square-foot space -- hard to miss thanks to its signature color -- offers a sure-to-please menu with:

  • A full bar serving signature cocktails for $7.50 such as Orange Negroni (Aperol, Rogue Spruce gin, sweet vermouth and a housemade brandied cherry) and Limoncello Lemon Drop (lemonade, Caravalla limoncello, Sobieski vodka and Patron Citronge) plus eight draft beers (including Scrimshaw Pilsner, $5, and Dupont Saison, $8), 32 bottled beers ($3.25-$8) and a well-chosen wine list that starts with house wines for $5 per glass.
  • Burgers (beef, turkey or housemade vegetarian patty) from $6.50-$11.50 including Farmer's Burger with Fontina cheese, fried egg, Petit Jean bacon, butter leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion and aioli, $8.50. Other sandwiches served on burger buns include curried falafel and lentil, Southern fried chicken, or blackened tilapia, each $7.50.
  • Salads from $8.50-$9.50 including BLT Wedge with wedges of iceberg, Petit Jean bacon, tomato, red onion, avocado, Maytage blue cheese dressing and balsamic glaze, $8.50.
  • Hand-cut fries and chips, $2.50-$4.
  • Hand-dipped fresh-whipped shakes from $3.50-$5.
  • Floats made with sugar-based bottled sodas, $3.50-$4.
  • Pies by Hunka Pie.

The interior, with a big bar and huge kitchen, is furnished with custom-built reclaimed hardwood tables and barsserie chairs. The decor includes 120-year-old reclaimed wood panels on the walls, directional arrows made from reclaimed materials and a hand-painted soda pop illustration on a chalkboard wall.

Servers use a wireless hand-held ordering system to communicate with the kitchen and accept credit card payments from diners.
