
Blackened tilapia is on the menu at Porter's Jazz Cafe.
Porter's Jazz Cafe at 315 Main St., Little Rock, is now open at 315 Main St., Little Rock, with lunch and dinner daily, brunch on Sunday, and live music (no cover) Wednesday through Sunday evenings.
According to co-owner Marcell Dean, the cafe's foyer, illuminated by a Rococo gilt metal and glass chandelier purchased from the estate of Lena Horne, has been named Lena’s Corner in honor of the late jazz singer known for her sultry rendition of Stormy Weather.
Lunch (burgers, sandwiches, po boys, salads and desserts) is served from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Dinner is from 4-8 p.m. daily. Brunch (waffles, omelets, biscuit sandwiches) is available from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Live jazz starts at 7 p.m. nightly.
Since new restaurants tend to adjust their hours, you might want to call before going (501-324-1900).
The dinner menu, which is posted online but doesn't mention prices, offers appetizers (such as mahogany chicken wings, deep fried stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs), salads, sandwiches (including onion infused baked chicken with apricot relish on cracked wheat), entrees (among them pork chops, bourbon soaked black peppercorn beef tenderloin, chicken and waffles, blackened tilapia), side dishes and desserts such as Porter House Sundae (vanilla ice cream with graham cracker crumbles topped with a brandy soaked cherry and drizzled with port wine).
