NFL: The 506 is back, publishing weekly maps of the United States showing which games are shown where.
FOX gets the double-header on Sunday, showing Philadelphia at St. Louis in the early game throughout most of Arkansas, even though the "national" game is Atlanta at Chicago. We assume that FOX is betting Arkansas viewers will be interested in seeing if Cedric Thornton, late of Southern Arkansas, will make any appearances as a defensive tackle. Two former Razorbacks, Demario Ambrose and Van Stumon, had worked out with the Rams in the preseason before getting cut last week.
You could say that FOX is showing the Rams for a regional fanbase, but the parts of Arkansas nearest to St. Louis (and Philadelphia, for that matter) are set with the Atlanta/Chicago game as part of the Memphis market. South Arkansas, where Thornton played, will also see the national game as part of the Monroe, La., market, so who really knows what the thinking is.
Arkansas will see the Giants at Washington as FOX's late game. Pittsburgh at Baltimore will be shown on CBS in most of the state except in those places served by KFSM in Northwest Arkansas, where Buffalo at Kansas City will be shownwith the broadcasting team of Marv Albert and Rich Gannon making their television debut for the 2011 season.
Viewers in east Arkansas inside the Memphis market will see Tennessee at Jacksonville on WREG-TV.
