Going to Fayetteville to see the Razorbacks play Auburn Saturday? If you have some spare time, get in a autumn frame of mind by visiting one of NW Arkansas' fun-filled corn mazes.
Farmland Adventures in Springdale includes a giant nine-acre corn maze, a mini corn maze, a straw bale maze, pumpkin patch, pony rides, petting zoo (with sheep, goats, pigs, calves, ponies, a mule, and yaks) and kids' play area. The theme is Outback Adventure and games inside the maze help visitors learn about Australia. For a greater challenge, navigate the maze with flashlights at night.
It's open 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 5. Admission is $9 for ages 13 and up and $7 for ages 3-12. Feed for zoo animals is available for $1. Unlimited pony rides are $5.
Huck’s Corn Maze in Lowell is a five-acre maze with plenty of dead ends, cut in the shape of Popeye. Other activities: build your own scarecrow, pick your own pumpkin, jump in bouncy houses, plunge down a 20-foot inflatable slide, take a hayride.
It's open 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesdays-Thursdays, 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Sundays. Cost is $5 per person. Ages 2 and under are free.
The Ozark Corn Maze in Cave Springs is 10,000 feet of foot paths containing loops, dead ends and intersections within 5.5 acres of corn stalks. After dark, flashlights will be provided. There's also a two-acre haunted maze, a 12-car cow train pulled by a 1939 Ford tractor, corn cannons, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, pumpkin picking patch, and concessions.
It's open 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays. The haunted maze is open from dark (6:30 or 7 p.m.)-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in October.
Corn maze admission is $7 per person with ages 2 and under free. Haunted maze admission is $10 (includes corn maze admission). A ride on the cow train is $2 per person. Shooting the corn cannons is $1. The petting zoo is free.
