Detail of The Fiddler from Party for Peg by Alice Guffey Miller

Passers-by often admire Alice Guffey Miller's cheery metal sculpture Party for Peg -- inspired by the spirit of longtime Historic Arkansas Museum volunteer Peg Newton Smith, who died in 2003 -- on the north plaza of Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock.

Its centerpiece will be lit at 6 p.m. Friday (Nov. 11) during 2nd Friday Art Night, making the Fiddler's shadow dance on the wall.

Miller, whose Partybirds roost in the museum's atrium, will present the museum with Sally Seuss, a Partybird honoring the late Sally Ann Williams, who worked for the Arkansas Arts Council for 25 years.

The evening will include an opening reception with refreshments for Tesseract Dancing: Brett Anderson and Emily Galusha, an exhibit of UCA student Anderson's stone and bronze sculptures and photographer/painter/sculptor Galusha's recent works.

There will be music by Lark in the Morning, performances by Arkansas Festival Ballet and blacksmithing demonstrations.

Admission is free. For more information call (501) 324-9351.
