Three episodes of The Twilight Zone, created by Rod Serling, that concern the Civil War will air at 1 p.m. today at the Fayetteville Public Library. 

The Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, will screen three Twilight Zone episodes that focus on the Civil War in the Library's Walker Community Room at 1 p.m. today (Dec. 18).

Admission is free.

The Twlight Zone, which aired from 1959-1964, is a TV anthology series created by Rod Serling that mixes drama, psychological thrills, fantasy, science fiction, suspense and horror.

The episodes are:

Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (1964) A Civil War civilian about to be executed escapes the hangman's noose but is unable to shake off mysterious chest pains as he runs home to his wife.

The Passerby (1961) A woman waits for her husband on the porch of her war-damaged house while a stream of soldiers pass by during the Civil War.

Still Valley (1961) A Confederate officer is offered a deal by the devil to save his side from death.
