Ceramics by Donna Uptigrove will be on display at Historic Arkansas Museum during 2nd Friday Art Night.

2nd Friday Art Night, going on from 5-8 p.m. Friday (Dec. 9) at Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, will feature an opening reception for Found–Fired–Formed: Sarah May Leflar, Donna Uptigrove and Amber Uptigrove, on display through Feb. 5. Music will be by the Meshugga Klezmer Band.

The museum will also present its annual Nog-off, a friendly competition for the best eggnog in town.

Found–Fired–Formed showcases a convergence of media by three emerging Arkansas artists. Sarah May Leflar’s compositions combine found objects with bold colors and textures. Donna Uptigrove transforms utilitarian ceramics by manipulating shape, color, and imagery to engage universal themes. Amber Uptigrove’s mixed media work in graphite and collage visualizes memory to convey a personal narrative.

The Nog-off will include new entries: Phil Brandon’s eggnog spiked with his new Rock Town Distillery’s Young Arkansas Bourbon and OMnoG by Drue Patton of Argenta Arts Foundation.

Returning this year will be Mary Beth Ringgold of Copper Grill, Tracy Sterling of Java Roasting Express at Wright and Chester streets and Bridget Farris with her old Kentucky family recipe. After a 2010 victory by Tandra Watkins of Ashley’s at the Capital Hotel, new contestant David Burnette of the Capital Bar and Grill will see if he can keep the honors in the hotel family.

After sampling the various eggnogs, guests will choose the People’s Choice winner of the Nog-off. In addition, there will be celebrity judges -- including Rex Nelson, Lawrence Hamilton and Kat Robinson -- who in a blind tasting will choose their favorite.

Admission is free. For more information call (501) 324-9351.
