Sandshadow, 1996, watercolor, litho pencil on handmade paper by Mary Ellen Doyle, is part of the Horizons Interrupted exhibit at the Arkansas Arts Center.

The exhibition Horizons Interrupted is on view through March 11 at the Arkansas Arts Center, Ninth and Commerce streets, Little Rock.

Horizons Interrupted is the “Curator for a Day” Tabriz auction item purchased by Arkansas artist Norwood Creech of Lepanto. Curator for a Day allows the purchaser to work with Arts Center curatorial staff in selecting works from the permanent collection and title the show.

Creech selected a group of works in which the horizon line is a critical element of the composition. The exhibit includes work by artists such as Piet Mondrian, Arthur Davies, Hayley Lever and more.
