Join the American Red Cross of Greater Arkansas in honoring Arkansas Heroes at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 18) at DoubleTree Hotel, 424 Markham St., Little Rock.

Arkansas Heroes recognizes those who prevented harm or saved a life. They are examples of the the mission of the Red Cross: To have as many people as possible trained and ready to prevent and respond to emergencies.

An additional highlight of the luncheon is the presentation of the Clara Barton Distinguished Humanitarian Award to Jeff Gardner, president and chief executive officer of Windstream, in recognition of financial generosity and employee volunteerism provided by Windstream in Arkansas and across the country.

Tax-deductible sponsorships are available at the following levels:

  • Arkansas Hero Sponsor ($5,000)
  • Disaster Response Sponsor $2,500
  • Table Sponsor $1,200

Proceeds from the luncheon provide relief to victims of local disasters such as residential fires (which Red Cross responds to an average of four times per day in Arkansas), floods and storms and emergency military communication between families here and loved ones in the military stateside or around the world.
