Tom Petty

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are coming to North Little Rock's Verizon Arena at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (April 21) as part of a series of North American concerts before embarking on their first tour of Europe in 20 years.

Special guest will be singer and pianist Regina Spektor, whose sixth album, "What We Saw From the Cheap Seats," goes on sale at the end of May.

Petty, who's been performing with the Heartbreakers since 1976, is one of those artists who has a deep catalog of hits to choose from when he goes on the road. It makes fan wonder what gets played and what gets left out. And how does Petty choose?

We might not know how the band decides what hits to bring on the road, but we've got a pretty good idea what he might play in Little Rock based on the setlist from a show the band played Wednesday night at the 2012 tour opener in Colorado.

(Spoiler alert! Read no further if you want to surprised on Saturday!)

Here's what the band played on Wednesday, according to TomPetty.com:

Listen to Her Heart
You Wreck Me
I Won’t Back Down
Here Comes My Girl
Handle With Care
Lovers Touch
I’m a Man
Something Big
Have Love Will Travel
Free Fallin'
Spike
It’s Good to Be King
To Find a Friend
Something Good Comin’
Learning to Fly
Yer So Bad
I Should Have Known It
Good Enough
Don’t Come Around Here No More
Refugee
Running Down a Dream
Encore: Mary Jane’s Last Dance/American Girl

If you're keeping score at home, that's four songs from the band's latest effort, "Mojo," and a couple of deep cuts from "Hard Promises" and "Southern Accents." "Handle With Care" is track from the first Traveling Wilburys album Petty recorded with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne.

We're also wondering whether Petty might add a tribute to late Arkansas-born musician Levon Helm, who died yesterday. Don't be surprised to see the group drop in a cover from The Band.

To get ready for Saturday, tide yourself over with this 2009 performance "I Won't Back Down." Because, you know, the waiting is the hardest part.

Tickets, priced at $27.50, $57.50, $77.50 and $99.50, are available at Verizon Arena boxoffice, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at (800) 745-3000 or at www.ticketmaster.com andlivenation.com.
