Billy Joe Shaver

Singer/songwriter Billy Joe Shaver will perform at the Revolution Music Room, 300 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock, where he last appeared on Aug. 15.

Shaver's songs have been recorded by Elvis Presley (You Asked Me To), Kris Kristofferson (Good Christian Soldier), Tom T. Hall (Willie the Wandering Gypsy and Me), Bobby Bare (Ride Me Down Easy), the Allman Brothers (Sweet Mama) and Waylon Jennings, who in 1973 released Honky Tonk Heroes, an album composed almost entirely of Shaver's songs.

The Portrait of Billy Joe, a documentary about his life directed by Luciana Pedraza (with of actor Robert Duvall), was released in 2004. He appeared in the 1997 film The Apostle, written and directed by Duvall.

The show, opening with Amy Garland and Mark Currey, starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
