Shaun Smith, 21, a junior marketing major at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and president of the nationally competitive SAU rodeo team, is among the competitors for the attention of a woman in reality show Sweet Home Alabama, airing Friday (Jan. 20) on CMT (to view the schedule click here).
The show's producers found out about him when his horse, Credit Card, was stolen in early November from the SAU stables in Magnolia.
The remains of the 15-year-old sorrel gelding were found in McCurtain County, Okla. Jaci Rae Jackson, another member of the SAU rodeo team, faces six felony counts in the theft of five horses, a trailer and other equipment.
Smith, who graduated as valedictorian in 2009 from Emmet High School, will be competing on Sweet Home Alabama with other bachelors for the attention of Paige Duke, a national representative for outdoors retailer Kruger Farms.
