Slow Southern Steel, a documentary on heavy metal Southern bands, will be shown at 8 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 26) at Market Street Cinema, 1521 Merrill Drive, Little Rock.

According to the film's director David Lipke, "Slow Southern Steel is a film about heavy music in the modern American South, as told by the very people who have created this music during the last two decades."

Among the bands featured are Hank III, Kylesa, Eyehategod, Torche, Dark Castle, Sourvein, Zoroaster, A Hanging, Haarp, Hawg Jaw, Black Skies, Ketea, Parasytic, Beaten Back to Pure, ASG, The Roller, Dixie Witch, Weedeater and Royal Thunder.

The evening includes live performances by Hail! Hornet and Zoroaster.
