
Tom Richard, professor of art at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, will exhibit his mixed-media works at Historic Arkansas Museum through May 6.
An opening reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. today (Feb. 10) for Utilizing Experiences and Myth, an exhibit of works by Tom Richard and Bryan Massey at Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., as part of 2nd Friday Art Night when galleries and museums in downtown Little Rock are open for an after-hours gallery walk.
Richard is a professor of art at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. His work includes mixed media pieces encompassing acrylic, gouache, watercolor, graphite, ink, and color pencil on paper.
Massey, a professor of art at University of Central Arkansas, is a sculptor who combines materials such as bronze, alabaster and limestone.
Another exhibit by Eureka Springs woodworker Doug Stowe titled The Making of My Small Cabinets will be on display.
Music will be by Montgomery Trucking, and refreshments will be served.
Also at 2nd Friday Art Night will be 16 works featuring the quilt as a medium for contemporary art at Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, 401 President Clinton Ave.
And Old State House Museum, 300 Markham St., is offering chocolate treats and a reading of love poems from 5-8 p.m.
Admission to these events is free. A free shuttle, running until 8:30 p.m., is available to transport visitors to other Art Night venues.
