George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu (pictured) in the 1960s TV series Star Trek, will discuss his interest in human rights issues at Robinson Center Thursday.

Actor George Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the Starship Enterprise in the TV series Star Trek (1966-1969), will discuss his support of human rights at 6 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 23) at Barry L. Travis Exhibition Hall of Robinson Center, Markham and Broadway, Little Rock.

Takei, a Japanese American who lived in two U.S. internment camps during World War II -- including the Rohwer Relocation Center in Desha County -- is a community activist and supporter of human rights.
