A photo of your dog (top row) can be transformed into an original custom pet sign (below) by artists in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Your dog deserves to be immortalized for being a brave, true and powerful protector and companion. Or comedian. Or cute barker. Whatever. Dogmandu can make this happen.

If you have a decent photo of your canine (and who doesn't?), you can get a unique custom pet sign announcing your choice of dog attributes (watch dog, danger dog, beware of dog, amusing dog, dazzling dog, etc.) painted on recycled metal by artists in Kathmandu, Nepal. Most are 14 inches by 18 inches and take about six to eight weeks to produce.

Cost for a custom-made sign is $100. Order forms can be found at CARE for Animals Headquarters, 5516 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock.

Or you can purchase ready-made signs for $75 at CARE. Call (501) 603-2273.

Your order helps these artists earn a living wage for their families and keeps alive their culture's hand-painted sign tradition.

Signs will be on display at CARE's annual Paws on the Runway, happening at 7 p.m. March 2 at Arkansas Governor's Mansion, 1800 Center St., Little Rock. Tickets are $50. To purchase and for more information click here.

One hundred percent of the profit from Dogmandu sales will be donated to CARE for Animals and other area animal rescue organizations.
