Rick Steves

Travel writer Rick Steves will be at the University of Central Arkansas Thursday-Friday (March 15-16) as part of UCA’s Artist in Residence Program.

Steves has written 40 travel guides, writes and produces several television programs and hosts Travel with Rick Steves, a radio program that airs on NPR.

He will give a lecture and sign copies of his latest book Travel as a Political Act at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the College of Business. Admission is free.

Other residency activities will include meeting with writing students at 11 a.m. Friday in Winfred Thompson Hall and the debut of Bravo!, a fundraising dinner for the UCA College of Fine Arts and Communication.

Tickets for the dinner, to be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, are $75. Proceeds will be used by the Department of Writing to help pay student travel costs to conferences.
