Ben Moody, co-founder of Evanescence, will be the judge for the Excel Models and Talent songwriting contest.

Got a song that you're sure could be a hit? Enter it in a songwriting contest hosted by Little Rock's Excel Models and Talent.

Submit your song online at www.excel-mt.com and click on the link Songwriter Submissions. Deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 25). Entry fee is $45.

Your songs will be heard by Ben Moody, co-founder of Evanescence and We are the Fallen, and Nancy Mancuso, owner of International Model and Talent Association (IMTA).

If you write songs but do not sing or would rather someone else sing your song, a professional singer will be provided for you if you make it to the finals, to be held at 8 p.m. March 10 at Bar Louie, 11525 Cantrell Road, Little Rock.

Three winners will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend the annual IMTA convention July 15-19 in New York.

Winning a scholarship to attend this convention would allow the winners to demonstrate their talent and give them the opportunity to be discovered.
