Tattoo Witness: Photographs by Mark Perrott -- large-scale black and white photographs documenting 25 years of tattoo culture -- is on display at the Arkansas Arts Center, Ninth and Commerce streets, Little Rock, through Sept. 9. The AAC is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. July 4.
Admission is free.
Perrott's stark photographs span 25 years of examining tattoo culture at locations such as Nick's Island Avenue Tattoo parlor in McKees Rocks near downtown Pittsburgh as well as tattoo parlors in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey.
Between 1995 and 2004 he continued his photographic quest by visiting 10 American mid-career tattoo masters at their studios across the country.
A native to the Pittsburgh area, Perrott has worked as a professional photographer since 1971. His work includes portraiture and corporate photography for annual reports and commissions for black and white portraits of families and children.
