I had been looking forward to the BrewHaHa at The Rep and "Second City" for months. The event happened on my birthday, and it definitely didn't disappoint.
You might have missed out on the free beer and pizza (and the birthday cake some sneaky friends stashed in the theater's bar for my surprise party at intermission) but don't let that deter you from missing this renown comedy group. They were so hilarious that I would pay more to see them again.
While some of the comedy is funny to practically anyone, there are several parts that are definitely aimed at tickling the Democrats. In fact, a couple of rowdy audience members with a different sense of humor vocalized their disdain for the jokes, but the quick-witted cast quickly regained the attention and kept the majority laughing. I point this out so you don't forget to 1) consider who you're going with, and 2) remember that it's just comedy.
To maintain your manners and still get some attention, here's a tip: sit in the front row along either aisle. The improv/sketch-comedy group incorporates some audience members specifically, while taking ideas from the entire audience throughout the night.
