Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton will offer a seven-course Amore Prix Fixe Valentine’s dinner at its River Rock Grill on Saturday, Feb. 13. Seating begins at 5 p.m. and the cost is $60 per person. Overnight accommodations are available.
The Sweethearts' Dinner, offered from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 by Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, features heart-shaped grilled choice rib eye, baked potato, Italian wedding soup, spinach or salad, rolls, and roasted vegetables. A vegetarian meal may be requested in advance. Following the dinner, take part in How Well Do You Know Me, an audio-visual version of TV's Newlywed Game. Sweetheart Weekend at Hobbs State Park Conservation Area near Rogers is going on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14. It starts at 9 a.m. with an Eagle Watch Cruise on Beaver Lake. Enjoy hot chocolate or hot apple cider along with two souvenir mugs from the Hobbs State Park gift shop. After the cruise there's lunch at nearby War Eagle Mill — ribs, potato wedges, coleslaw, roll and drink — plus a present from the Mill gift shop. Next, meet Hobbs Trail Maintenance Supervisor Al Knox at the Hidden Diversity Multi-Use Trail head on Townsend Ridge Road for a guided three-mile round trip to the scenic overlook of War Eagle Valley; pose for a photograph to remember your weekend. Arkansas Missouri Railroad excursion train will offer two trips on The Love Train. 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11: Wine and Chocolate Tasting at the Afterthought. Four chocolates (white, milk, semisweet and bittersweet) will be paired with four wines, ranging from light sparkling wine to a dark & lusty Malbec. Price is $12 per person; romantic harp music will be provided by Allen Alverson. Stay for an evening of jazz by the Dr. Rex Bell Trio, starting at 8 p.m..

Valentine’s dinners at Vieux Carre include both Saturday and Sunday nights from 5:30-10 p.m. (the restaurant is normally closed Sunday evenings, but not on Feb. 14!).
