Take a tour of Faucette Brothers Bank Building, which now houses Argenta Community Theater, at noon Friday.

The Faucette Brothers Bank Building, 405 Main St., North Little Rock, will be the site of a Sandwiching in History tour at noon Friday (Nov. 2).

Located in the Argenta Historic District, the Faucette Brothers Bank Building was constructed in 1900 by William C. Faucette and his younger brother James P. Faucette, prominent businessmen in Argenta who served as the first and third mayors of North Little Rock, respectively.

Initially founded as Faucette Brothers Bank, the institution incorporated on April 23, 1904, as Twin City Bank. In 1904 the new City of North Little Rock was in a precarious financial situation after using its 1903 revenue to annex the 8th Ward of Little Rock (Argenta), and Twin City Bank kept the city afloat in its early years.

The recently renovated bank building now houses the Argenta Community Theater.

The tours, organized by Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, last less than an hour. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch. Admission is free.

A tour of downtown Little Rock's Tower Building will be held at noon Dec. 7. For more information click here.
