The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark., is more than just one-of-a-kind exhibits. At the beginning of 2013, visitors can take advantage of classes, evening events and demonstrations.

There are many things to get excited about at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art at the beginning of the year.

Crystal Bridges Museum, 600 Museum Way, Bentonville, will get 2013 off to a great start with art classes, enhanced as a series of workshops for both children and adults. For those adults who have wanted to learn a new art skill for the new year, two drawing classes are offered in January—Studio Studies figure drawing will meet four times and Drawing Explorations botanical studies will meet for three sessions. A new art class for preschoolers ages 3-5 is also offered this month, with a three-session afternoon class beginning Jan. 16.

Check out a full list of classes and workshops here.

The popular Art Night Out series will be returning later in the month-- Jan. 24. IMMERSION: Celebrating Light and Architecture is a program for adults with a light theme to correspond with the exhibition See the Light: The Luminist Tradition in American Art, which will be on display through Jan. 28. Tickets are $25. Museum members receive a 20 percent discount on program and event tickets.

Arkansas clay artist Trent Tally will be giving a pottery wheel demonstration during a show and sale of his work in Crystal Bridges’ Museum Store from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.
