Mobile apps that can ease the stress of winter weather:
- The Weather Channel app allows users to enter locations for a localized weather update and view animated radars and detailed hourly, daily and weekly forecasts.
- If lost or stuck in snow, the Winter Survival Kit will determine your location and notify your friends and family. The app also features a gas calculator to show how long your car can run based on the amount of gas you have.
- Users can get up in the morning early enough to scrape their car windows and make it to work on time with Winter Wake-Up. This alarm clock monitors overnight weather and rings earlier than usual based on the pre-set preferences of the user.
- Local TV outlets also have mobile weather apps to keep you posted on conditions, including KTHV, KATV, and Fox 16.
