While some local residents have had their power restored, there are still many who are still braving the blistery cold without electricity.
The City of North Little Rock in conjunction with the American Red Cross is offering a safe, warm place to stay for local residents who have been affected by the major winter storm. The Winter Warming Center is situated at the North Little Rock Community Center, 2700 Willow, NLR.
Those interested in staying at the center should bring prescription medications, as well as extra clothes, blankets toiletries, important documentation and other comfort items. Those with infants or children should also remember to bring diapers, formula and toys.
At least 10,000 North Little Rock and Sherwood residents who lost electricity due to the winter storm that hit the area on Christmas Day has had their power restored. But that still leaves more than 700 customers still without power.
